Seedpod Sea Urchin

Introduction: Seedpod Sea Urchin

About: Livin' and lovin' life to the fullest 😁

I've been working on a beachscape sculpture and I needed some handmade items to add some interest to it. I've had some seedpods from a sweet gum tree in my collection and realized they would be perfect for creating some cute little sea urchins. Here's how I did it!

This is an entry in the Tiny Contest. If you like it, please vote 😁

Step 1: Supplies

Sweet gum tree seed pods
Round toothpicks
Hot glue gun & glue sticks
Metallic amethyst and dioxazine purple acrylic paint-or your choice of colors

Step 2: Making the Urchin

Cut a few toothpicks in half.
If you look closely at the sweet gum pod, you'll see it has holes in it where the seeds are released. Put a dab of hot glue on the blunt end of a toothpick and stick it down into one of those holes. Easy as that! Repeat the process. Put them just on the topside like me, or you can put them all around.

Step 3: Paint Your Little Urchin

Paint the urchin a combination of metallic amethyst and dioxazine purple. Let them dry and then put them on display 😁

I hope you enjoyed my Instructable 😁 Dont forget to vote!
