Introduction: Sewing Machine Thread Hold-Down

Thread disappearing into the lower bobbin area is a pain, but sometimes I don't have enough fingers to hold onto it. Hence, a thread clamp: simply pull the thread under the washer, and it stays put.

The washer is a bit of tin-can lid, dished very slightly (see gap in photo #3) by hitting it with the domed head of a hammer while it rested on a rubber mat, a-la-rubber-pad-forming.
