Shielding Abandoned Building Windows

I have abandoned building. People near by throw their trash and government are forcing owners to prevent that. So we figured that out.

Step 1: Making Wooden Shields

So we had premade wooden shields. Not lots of work. there were broken one. So we repaired that.

Step 2: Shielding

So first things first. You have to clear up the space to fit the shield. The shield fits in a burr that are already made. Then you ram a 4"x4" between pillars and nail it to the shield

Step 3: Putting Doors Back In

The doors were knocked out so we brougt "new" ones and put it back together. And no one could open them I hammered them down.

That wood might slow down some of the less enthusiastic, but I bet someone knocks some of it out eventually. Masonry deters more folks. You could salvage bricks from inside the building, then block up the bottom floor windows with them. Nothing says get lost quite as good as rocks do.

I know I can't stop them. But it's purpose is to "protect" your building from litters. So your building wount look like trash Kilimanjaro.

Brick the first floor windows up and you'll stop them. You have plenty of bricks there.

In the U.S. they'd make condos out of a building like that.

Here they make utility buildings too. But to make one there are too many restrictions for this kind of buildings. To make a condo would be expensive.

Interesting. I have spent a lot of time inside abandoned buildings photographing them, and it's an interesting perspective to hear from the owner of one. Are you in the US?
