Introduction: Shotgun Shell Candle

This is a fun craft to make that also decorates your home, hunting lodge, or even a club house. You can decorate anywhere with this candle. It is also perfect for power outages.

Warning: There is a fire hazard with this candle. Always burn on a plate. Notice that I AM NOT responsible for any fires started with this candle.

Step 1: Materials

For the materials you will need
• an empty shotgun shell
•a cotton ball (or candle wick)
• vegetable shortening. Candle wax can also work
• a bowl
• a spoon
• a microwave
• a working sink
Optional
• candle scent
•refridgerator
• oven mit

Step 2: Washing

Make sure that you wash out your shotgun shell very good before making the candle. Using soap is optional, but recommended. You also need to dry it off when your done washing it.

Step 3: Making the (wax)

If you have candle wax, go ahead and skip this step. Put about 2 scoops of vegetable shortening in a bowl and put it in the microwave until melted.

Step 4: Making the Wick

All you have to do to make the wick is break your cotton ball in half and twist it to your desired size.

Step 5: Pouring the Wax

Make sure you wear oven mits for this step.
Notice: I am not responsible for any burns in the process of making this candle.
You can use an funnel for this step. Pour the shortening in the shotgun shell.

Step 6: Placing the Wick

Once you pour the wax, just simply slide the wick into the wax and ajust it however you like.

Step 7: Letting the Wax Dry

You can either leave your unfinished candle out to dry, or you can put it in the refridgerator to speed up the pace.

Step 8: Light It Up and Enjoy :)

Just light your candle and enjoy your new decoration.
As i said before , make sure you burn it on a plate. (not a paper plate)
