Shower Drain Silencer

Intro: Shower Drain Silencer

Enjoy a quieter shower

STEP 1: Cut an Empty Bottle

Use a sharp knife and cut the bottle short enough so it fits in the drain

STEP 2: Add Golf Ball

Put the golf ball in the bottle upside down and insert in the drain

That should eliminate the echoes from the water falling too fast down the drain or force it to stick to the sides of the drain

If it blocks the flow, tilt it slightly

now this is pure genius. thanks for saving my sanity.
HOLY MOLY. I have a loud shower drain crisis right now and I think this might solve my problem!! Questions for you, if you don't mind: 1. Does this in any way create a snag for hair and soap scum, especially long hair? 2. Just curious, what exactly is the function of the golf ball? (I guess it lessens the direct hit of water, but the lumps on the ball allow water to pass around it?) I'm very excited to try this. Hope you see this comment! Thank you!
I have a shower that remains to make drip noises for long periods of time after I talk a shower... At least until all the water drains from the floor. Will this remedy fix this problem as well? I ask this because I'm interpreting what I read above fixes a different problem than noise from drips in the shower.
This should help with that issue as well, the device acts as both a sound barrier and creates a pinch point of sorts for the waters flow.

Will this work with other brand golf balls? I can't seem to locate a Callaway ;-)
