Intro: Shrimp Won Ton!

Won Tons are easy to make, and require only a single burner to heat water or soup in. You'll need wrappers from the grocery, soy sauce, garlic, a dash of ginger, some chopped scallions, and chopped shimp and optionally pork.

STEP 1: Ingredients

Mince 4 oz shimp. Add a tablespoon chopped green onion, a 1/4 teaspoon each crushed garlic and ginger, a teaspoon chopped bamboo shoots if you have them, and a dash- say a teaspoon- light soy. sauce. Mix well.

STEP 2: Assembly

Lay some wrappers on a cutting board or plate. Put a teaspoon of the mixture in the center of each. Wet two edges, and fold into triangles. Now bring the two far ends of the triangle together, and press.

STEP 3: Cooking

Drop the assembled won tons into your chicken soup to which you've added a dash of light soy, and a bit of ginger and garlic. Cook at a low boil for about 5 minutes, and serve. Add some chopped green onions for a garnish, if you like.

do you live in indonesia? i see an abc soy sauce
In place of bamboo shoots I have used chopped (canned) water chestnuts. Very crunchy, mild flavour. I've never had bamboo before, so I cannot offer any comment on them.

I also use lemongrass (I've got this variety of crushed lemongrass in a tube what comes premixed with some oil to keep it fresh) in place of ginger. I put about a 1/2 tsp in for about 15 dumpligs/won tons.
The previous link to my food page had a problem- I put in a period that messed it up. The correct URL is http://smsfr.blogspot.com
Try again. I just clicked on the link in your comment and it took me right there.
...but I do like this instructable. I love wonton soup at the chinese restaurant, and I suppose I could have figured out how to do it, but never tried. Thanks.
Fresh shrimp, should be accopanied by fresh garlic (and ginger). I inherited a jar of that stuff, which sat in a cupboard for years before I threw it out.
These look very good though, and simple too.

You know I'm allergic to shrimp, right? Why do you hate me? Why are you trying to kill me? Aside from the shrimps though, it looks very good.
I'll have to find some of those wonton wraps (or figure out how to make some :P).
Just about every grocery store carries them- check the produce section.
That looks good! I'll make some this weekend.
