Introduction: Siamese Twin
This year I was inspired by the last season of American Horror Story and I thought it would be fun to make myself a Siamese twin. I sculpted a self-portrait in Z-Brush, gave it a base that could mount on top of my shoulder, and then printed it out on my Gigabot 3D printer. I get my plastic direct from China, so the actual material cost for the print was about $10. Then primed it with white Krylon Fusion for Plastic paint (the best for painting PLA plastic), and did several coats of color using an airbrush.
The last step (not documented in the video) was to paint in the finer details with a very small brush.
I drilled a small hole in each corner of the base to thread fabric strips through which can be tied around my body so the head stays in place.
Step 1: Printing and Painting
The print took approximately 35 hours to complete and I spent a day and a half on the paint job.
Step 2: Revel in the Creepy Thing I Made
People find it way creepier than I thought they would... especially my wife.
