Silk thread jewelry are very much attractive and an innovative form of jewelry. The bright and shiny colors of the silk thread gives a eye catching jewelry. Using the silk thread we can make any kind of jewelry at home. It is one of the hand made products.

In India each and every women is fond of these jewelry. These use matching bangles, earrings, Necklace, and pendents while wearing grand dresses and even for the normal days. As these kinds of jewelry cost cheaper than the store bought ones.

The materials needed for these jewelry is available in the online market itself. The process of making these jewelry is easy as the beginners can also do it without any difficulties. The base of the jewelry is common and the designs for these can be customized according to your creativity.

Step 1: Supplies

Silk thread

Plain bangles

Jhumka bases

Chandbali bases

Decorative beads and stones (Stone chain, Ball chain etc)

Back rope

Flower studs

Spacers

Head pins or eye pins

Hooks

Jump rings

Fabric glue

Scissors, Pliers

Board ( For layering)

Step 2: Common Step

It is the common step for every jewelry.

Image 1 : Take a board, hold the edge of the silk thread tightly and start rolling it in the board. The board can be taken according to the length of the silk thread we need.

Image 2 : Layer up to 30 rounds.

Image 3 : After rolling cut the silk thread in the middle and secure it with the glue.

Step 3: Base for BANGLES

Image 1 : Take the bangle and add glue at the inner side.

Image 2 : Stick the silk thread strands to it.

Image 3 : Start wrapping the bangle. Once the silk thread gets finished stick it at the inner side and cut the excess silk thread.

Image 4 : If the silk thread was finished in the half way add another strand of silk thread and repeat the process.

Image 5 : After wrapping the bangle will look as shown in the image.

Image 6 : You can make any size and number of bangles in the desired color.

You can add multi color by using one color of thread for half bangle and another color for the other half. The color choice is upto your preference.

Step 4: Bangle-Design 1

Image 1 : The X mark bangles.

Image 2 : Stick the stone chain at both the edges of the bangles.

Image 3 : Stick as shown in the image.

Image 4 : Take the zari thread and roll it. There should be only 3 lines of thread.

Image 5 : Apply glue and attach the zari thread at the inner side of the bangle.

Image 6 : Make an X mark as shown in the image. Repeat this process for the entire bangles.

Step 5: Bangles-Design 3

Wrap the bangle with the silk thread.

Take the contrast color of silk thread which suits the silk thread color in the bangle. It should have only 10 lines of thread.

Stick one side of the silk thread to the inner side of bangle. Glue the other end and make it sharp for adding the beads.

Add the small beads the the silk thread strand and start wrapping the silk thread along with the beads. Wrap the thread with some gap in between them as shown in the image.

Step 6: Bangles-Design 2

This is a basic set of bangles.

For one set take four bangles. 2 from smaller and 2 from bigger size.

Wrap the bangles with any color of silk thread.

Cut the chain into pieces of 3 stones and one stone.

Add the cut 3 stones chain to the bigger bangle and 1 stones to the smaller one. Stick it on the entire bangle with some space in between them.

Step 7: Bangles-Design 4

For this design Wrap the bangle with the silk thread.

Take the same color of silk thread which suits the silk thread color in the bangle. It should have only 5 lines of thread.
Stick one side of the silk thread to the inner side of bangle. Glue the other end and make it sharp for adding the beads.

Arrange the beads in the order of 2 large beads and 1 small beads to the silk thread strand and start wrapping the silk thread along with the beads.

The beads should be arranged in the bangle by 2 large beads in a vertical line and one small bead to the middle of two large beads in the next line as shown in the image.

Repeat the process for the whole bangle.

Step 8: Bangles-Design 5

Take a silk thread and roll it for 90 rounds. Apply the glue at the top and divide it into 3 stands.

Make a simple 3 strand braid in the silk thread and secure the edges with glue.

Wrap the bangle with the contrast color of the braided silk thread.

Stick the stone chain (Pearl) at the edges of the bangle.

Now attach the braided silk thread in between the stone chains as shown in the image.

These are some of the designs of bangle. You can make any designs who wish to make.

Step 9: Basic Supplies for Earrings

Silk thread

Step 10: Base for Jhumka Earrings

Image 1 : Take a strand of silk thread and glue the edges.

Image 2 : Apply glue to the jhumka base.

Image 3 : Attach the silk thread strand to the glued base and insert the other edge through the hole at top and wrap the base.

Image 4 : After wrapping the jhumka base completely apply glue and secure the edge.

Image 5 : Wrap the jhumkla base with silk thread as shown in the image.

Step 11: Base for Chandbali Earrings

Image 1 : Take a strand of silk thread and the top of the mold. Make sure not to wrap it on the hole at the top.

Image 2 : Wrap the mold completely.

Image 3 : The chandbali mold for the earring will be like this when its done.

Step 12: Connecting Jhumkas

Image 1 : Take the eye pin and join a bead to it.

Image 2 : Insert the pin to the top hole of the jhumka.

Image 3 : Add the spacer to the top. fold the excess pin and add a jump ring. Join it to the flower stud or hook.

It a common process for all earrings.

Step 13: Earring-Design 1

Image 1 : Chandbali jhumka earring.

Image 2 : Make the jhumka base and wrap it with the silk thread. Apply glue and stick the stone chain.

Image 3 : Apply glue and stick the ball chain.

Image 4 : Wrap the chandbali base with silk thread and attach the stone chain to it.

Image 5 : Follow the process in the previous step and join the chandbali to the jhumka.

Image 6 : The earring will look like this after joining.

Image 7 : Take the flower stud and stick a flower bead to it. Insert it to the small hole at the top of chandbali and apply some glue.

Step 14: Earring-Design 2

Image 1 : Simple Jhumka.

Make the jhumka base with the silk thread and add the stone and ball chain to it. Take the Flower stud and stick the stone chain and beads to it. Connect the jhumka to the flower stud as shown in the step 12.

Image 2 : Multi color Jhumka.

Wrap the jhumka with multi color thread and stick some beads and stone chains. Make designs to the flower stud or use the store bought designer flower stud. Connect the jhumka to the flower stud as shown in the step 12.

Image 3 : Grand Jhumka.

Wrap the jhumka with the silk thread. Take a golden color silk thread strand with 5 lines and wrap ikt to the jhumka as shown in the image. Take the Flower stud and stick the stone chain and beads to it. Connect the jhumka to the flower stud as shown in the step 12.

Step 15: Earring-Design 3

Image 1 : Small grand full work earring.

Wrap the jhumka earring with golden color thread. Decorate it with stone and ball chain, It should cover the entire jhumka. Take the Flower stud and stick the stone chain and beads to it. Connect the jhumka to the flower stud as shown in the step 12.

Image 2 : Large grand full work earring.

Wrap the large sized jhumka earring with golden color thread. Decorate it with stone and ball chain, It should cover the entire jhumka. Take the Flower stud and stick the stone chain and beads to it. Connect the jhumka to the flower stud as shown in the step 12.

Step 16: Earring-Design 4

Image 1 : Simple hook earring.

Wrap the jhumka earring silk thread. Decorate it with ball chain. Connect the jhumka to the hook as shown in the step 12.

Image 2 : Two tone hook earring.

Divide the jhumka base into 4 equal parts, Wrap it using 2 different colors of silk thread alternatively. Decorate it with stone and ball chain. Connect the jhumka to the hook as shown in the step 12.

Image 3 : Braided hook earring.

Take 3 different colors of silk thread, each strand should have 20 lines. Braid the silk thread strands by normal 3 strand braid. Wrap the jhumka earring with the braided silk thread. Connect the jhumka to the hook as shown in the step 12.

Step 17: Earring-Design 5

Chandbali earring

Take a chandbali mold and wrap it with a silk thread as shown in step 11. Decorate it with stone chain. Take the Flower stud and stick the stone chain and beads to it.

Step 18: Basic Supplies for Pendent

Silk thread

Chandbali base (large size) or Circle pendent base

Stone chain and ball chain

Jump rings

Fabric glue

Scissors and pliers

Step 19: Pendent Base

Image 1 : Wrap the pendent with the chandbali base.

Image 2 : Wrap it as shown in the image.

Image 3 : Decorate it with the stone chain.

Image 4 : Add the jump rings to the hole at the top.

Step 20: Necklace

Image 1 : Make the silk thread with three strands of 75 lines each. Make a normal 3 strand braid. Stitch some beads to the silk thread. Attach a jump rings to the both end as shown in the image. Attach the back rope to the jump rings.

Image 2 : Join the pendent to the necklace using the jump rings. You can also use any type of chain to it.
