Introduction: Simple Camera Mount

About: I'm Ben. I'm currently weaseling my way through undergrad at MIT where I'm majoring in physics and nuclear science and engineering. I made this account back in middle school (hence the cheesy name), and I real…
In this instructable I will show you how to make a simple mount for a camera that can be used on just about anything. The materials needed can be found laying around the average garage. Although it can be mounted on anything that you can put screws in, I am putting it on a street luge that i made so I can film a very fast run. (see my other instructsable for street luge).

Step 1: Materials

Most of the materials can be found laying around the average garage.

Materials:
-small piece of wood about 3" by 1" by 1"
-bolt that fits tripod mount on camera (most cameras have a small hole in the bottom where a tripod can be screwed on)
-two nuts that fit on the bolt
-two fence screws

tools:
drill
screw driver

Step 2: Assembly

drill a hole in the wood about two thirds of the way in, big enough for the bolt. Put a nut on the bolt and screw it down on the bolt. Insert the bolt into the hole that you drilled. Make sure that you only leave enough room coming out of the end of the hole for the other nut and the hole in the camera. tighten the other nut on the bolt so that there is just enough room to screw the camera on with the hole usually used to mount the camera on a tripod. tighten the nuts so that the bolt is tight on the piece of wood.

Step 3: Mounting

Drill two holes in the two thirds of the piece of wood which is not near the bolt. Screw the fence screws into the holes, and into the object that you would like to mount the camera to.
