Introduction: Simple Card Frame Mirror
(First instructable)
Today I'm gonna show you how to make a kick a$$ frame for a mirror out of an old deck of cards! Here is what you'll need!:
1: a large amount of cards (full deck will do, but I would look for 2 just in case you cut weird)
2:scissors
3 any old knife
4: a mirror
5: any old marker
Step 1: Out With the Old
The first thing to do is to take off that dumb old frame. In most cases all you need to do is gently pull it off one side at a time, bus if the back has paper and staples, cut off ALL paper and ALL plywood/particle board.
Step 2: And in With the New
Now this is the fun part. Take your deck and place down the cards over the area where the old frame was. You can do this however you want, but I like either strait, staggered, or random. DO NOT GLUE yet, cause there's more
Step 3: Bring Alice to the Castle
The next thing
You want to do is to take your marker and draw the line where the card is no longer on the mirror. The cards are gonna be slippery, so I took a price of flat particle board and put it on the the cards so they wouldn't move while I was using the marker
Step 4: OFF WITH THEIR HEADS
The next step is to INDIVIDUALLY cut the card on the line you drew. Place them back whee they were when you were planning. Then take A LITTLE bit of glue and gently glue the cards
Where you wanted them
IMPORTANT:
-Make sure the cards are flush with the edge of the glass
- glue the cards evenly so the edges won't stick up
Step 5: VOILA!! ES MAGNIFIQUE
TADA
Now you did it. All you have to do is enjoy it.
