Introduction: Simple Chess & Checkers
Nowadays kids and teenagers usually play with videogames, computers and some another toy that needs internet but and when we don’t have electricity, what are they going to play with? So, with this instructable I will show you how to create two classics table games:chess and checkers and the better thing, using just simple materials.
Step 1: Supplies and Tools
To create these games, you will need:
Supplies
- 1 Cardboard with 17x17cm;
- 1 Cardboard with 6x17cm;
- 1 File of "chess pieces".
Tools
- 1 Scissor;
- 1 Ruler;
- 1 Pen.
Step 2: Creating the Board
Let's start to build our board. For this, catch your cardboard 17x17cm and with a ruler and a pen create a border with 0,5cm.
After that, using a ruler, draw 8 (eight) squares per line and each columns will have 8 (eight) squares too.
Obs. Each squares have 2cm each side. Take a look in the picture to help you.
Step 3: It's Time to Paint
Now using the pen, you can choose the color you want: blue, green or black but, remember, you need to paint squares in alternate, see the image above to guide you.
Step 4: Creating Your Pieces
You can do this step in two ways.
- Cut out 32 circles with the same size the piece in cardborad 6x17cm or
- Paste the pieces in your cardboard 6x17cm and cut out then with a scissor.
Remember: One team, black or white needs to be paste in top of cardboard and the other team must be paste in back.
