Introduction: Simple Paper Airplane
How to make a simple paper airplane.
Supplies
1 piece of 8.5" x 11" paper
Step 1: First Fold
Place paper flat on surface so the longer edge is vertical. Portrait orientation. Fold the paper in half and crease along fold. After making fold and crease, unfold paper.
Step 2: 2nd Fold
Take the top left hand corner of the paper and fold until the corner touches the center fold. Make a crease at new fold line.
Step 3: 3rd Fold
Repeat with the right hand corner. Fold corner forward until it touches the center fold & crease.
Step 4: 4th Fold
Fold left hand side of paper again until the edge reaches the center fold, crease. Repeat this step on right hand side.
Step 5: 5th Fold
Repeat 4th fold for opposite side.
Step 6: Turn Over
Now turn paper over so your folds are facing away from you, they should be flat against the table.
Step 7: Reverse Fold
Fold the paper in 1/2 in the opposite direction as the first fold. There should be 2 flaps on the outside now.
Step 8: Wing Folds
Fold one side of the bottom (longer flat edge) about 1/2 way down, towards the outside of the plane. Repeat this step for the opposite side.
Step 9: Almost Done
Turn plane so flat, folded parts are facing up.
Step 10: Final Product
Fold the tips of wings up towards center of plane. This step can vary depending on how much you fold and in what direction. Adjusting these folds can create different effects in both the look and flight patterns of the plane.
