Introduction: Sink Sieve

I designed and 3d printed this to stop food particles and other waste material going down the waste pipe and blocking the pipes and the drain. Because it is suspended, it drains well. I had to match the dimensions to my sink so it fits neatly and stays in place. Works very well.

Step 1: Design

I designed it using Tinkercad. I made several versions before getting one that stays in place and is just about as big as would fit. My file should be easily modiifable to fit other sinks.

Step 2: Making

I have a Prusa MK3S printer and I used PLA with 0.3mm layers. If you are planing to pour very hot liquids into it, PETG would probably be better as PLA distorts with high temperatures, but I have not had any such problems so far.
