Introduction: Smart Home (Home Automation Using BOLT IoT)

About BOLT IoT:
BOLT is an Internet of Things platform which includes hardware and cloud. Using BOLT IoT we can build IoT Projects.

Home Automation is the use of one or more computers to control basic home functions and features automatically and remotely. A smart phone or web browser can be used to control or monitor the home automation system.

I have developed a prototype of a room which uses the internet to control various home appliances. The project can further be extended for more appliances and added home features.

Step 1: Components Used

1. BOLT IoT
2. LEDs
3. Proximity Sensor
4. Motor
5. Cardboard and paper to make the room

Step 2: Connections and Program

Various I/O pins of BOLT IoT are connected to various devices

I have connected pin
1 of BOLT to a Proximity Sensor
2 of BOLT to Fan motor
3 of BOLT to TV LED
5 of BOLT to AC LED
6 of BOLT to Room light LED

The BOLT is programmed in a way to monitor and control the devices at the click of a button.

Step 3: Basic Working

The proximity sensor is fitted near the door of the room. It senses any movement and displays a message if there is movement and switches on the room light. After a person leaves the room, the proximity sensor automatically switches off the room light.

Other devices like the TV, AC and Fan can be turned on or off by clicking the "ON" and "OFF" buttons displayed on the web page.

Step 4: Video Demonstration
