Introduction: Social Distancing Sensor
General Overview and introduction:
During these unprecedented times, there is an easier and fun way of staying safe! With this social distancing sensor, you will be able to safely distance yourself from others. This project utilizes 6 LEDs 2 of the same color (red, green, and yellow), an ultrasound distance sensor which picks up the distance of an object and as the object moves closer to it, the buzzer increases its frequency while the LEDs change color from green to yellow to red, indicating that the object is getting closer.
Materials:
- 6 LEDs 2 of the same color (red, green, and yellow)
- An Arduino
- Ultrasound distance sensor
- Buzzer
- Breadboard
- 8x 330ohm resistors
- Wire or jumper wires
Since this is just a circuit of a project, you can make a lot of modifications to it. I don't have these resources at home so I cannot physically make this is in real life but if you do then maybe you can put this circuit in something like a cardboard box and cut out holes for the LEDs and the buzzer for it to be more appealing.
Step 1: Making the Circuit
This is a very easy circuit to make. Firstly, you need to put all the LEDs of the same color together and then you need to connect them to the digital pins on the Arduino and resistors. Secondly, connect the distance sensor to the digital pins as well. And lastly, the buzzer also gets connected to the digital pins on the Arduino. You can also use the given picture for help.
