Solar Night-Light

In this instructable, I made a simple solar night-light.

Great for bathrooms, corridors and other places where night-light is required.

Stick it to the window and forget about it.

Light will charge up during the night and light up when it gets dark.

What do we need:

• Solar Garden Light
• Giant suction hook
• Ping-Pong Ball
• Hot glue or alternative

Step 1:

Take apart your solar garden light.

Only leave the top - solar panel and an LED.

Step 2:

Take a suction hook and cut off the hook.

Step 3:

Glue the suction hook on top of the solar panel.

Step 4:

Cut a Ping-Pong ball in half and glue it on top of the LED.

That's it!

Stick it to any window and the light will charge up.

When dark, it will light up, giving you enough light to see the way to the loo.

On the window - no problems.

I put it on tiles and it felt off. I did not clean the hook or the tiles before attaching it, so it might be because of the grease/finger prints.

I guess it also depends what suction hook you are using.

I used a cheap one.

Cool idea! I'd be interested in seeing some way to 'beef-up' the batteries and using brighter LEDs in this.

I was also thinking about the brighter LED, but for the night light it was enough.
