Introduction: Sony Action Cam Pole
This Instructable is for a extendable pole mount for the Sony HDR-AS15 Action cam.
It's my first Instructable - any comments or suggestions would be welcome.
Step 1: What You'll Need:
- 3/4" rigid PVC pipe
- 3/4" PVC tee (x1)
- 3/4" PVC elbow (x4)
- 3/4" PVC union (x3)
- glue
- saw
- tape measure
- paper towel for cleanup
Step 2: Preview
This is an exploded view of the head portion. Glue one side separately, and then the other. I cut 4 x 1-3/4" pieces to stub together the fittings. YOU MUST GLUE IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA, I.E. outside.
PVC glue is pretty volatile stuff.
Step 3: Assembly
Glue half together as shown, and then the other half with the stubs protruding. The final assembly involves gluing the 2 halves together, so you'll want to be sure everything lines up along the way.
Step 4:
The completed head unit.
Step 5: Attaching the Pole
Using another 1-3/4" stub, attach one half of the union to the head, and the other half to a section of pipe (my first length is around 12"). Cut to whatever length feels comfortable.
Step 6:
Attach another half union to the first section of pipe, and cut another length (again, whatever feels comfortable). Attach the other end of the union to the second section. Repeat for the third section of pipe.
Step 7: Finished
The final assembly. It's 6' long when all three sections are attached. You can use all 3 sections at once, or just one or two.

I love PVC. When I was raising parrots, I use PVC for travel perches & play pens I used Amazing Goop adhesive. It doesn't have the strong fumes, is easy to use, very strong, water proof, and can take high heat.
