Introduction: Sparkly Sequin Shoes

About: Hi everyone! I'm a hardcore DIY'er, I've published 11 DIY books, just produced my own TV show called Make Your Mark for PBS/APT, I make YouTube videos every week and I'm buried under a mountain of craft suppl…

This is a permanent way to apply sequins to your shoes without leaving a trail of sparkle behind you! With this method you can use any color of sequin and do this to any type of shoe.

Step 1: Watch the Video Tutorial Here

Step 2: You'll Need

Slip on sneakers

E-6000

DecoArt Dazzling Metallics

Sequins

Paintbrush

Newspaper

Step 3:

Set up your shoes on newspaper

Paint your upper shoe first (don't worry about getting some on the sole)

Paint the soles and let them dry for an hour or so

Step 4:

Squirt out some E-6000 glue in one area (not too big)

Spread it evenly with a toothpick

Generously sprinkle sequins in the glue while it's wet and tap them on to the glue as you go

Step 5:

Repeat the process until you're done adding sequins to the upper shoe

Add another coat of paint to the sole and you're done!

I love it! I'm always frustrated by the trail of glitter and sequins left in the wake of sparkly things, so thanks for the tip about E-6000!

These are awesome! I might use this technique to make some silver disco heels for an outfit I'm planning for Burning Man!

(Seriously, who has $400 to spend on sequined shoes! I'm jealous of those people, haha!)

Not me, I'd much rather make something fun then spend the $400 bucks for it! If I spend money it's for an experience like vacation or a big dinner out with friends....
