Introduction: Spicy Chocolate Cookies
When I was a little girl my grandma used to bake with me and even though I always made a mess in the kitchen she was always patient with me. When I moved away from my hometown I missed her a lot and started to remember memories I had with her. In most of the memories we were baking happily, so I decided that I would continue to bake. Throughout the years I have baked many different desserts, but the dessert I like to bake the most is cookies, because it was the dessert I baked most often with my grandmother. I decided that doing spicy cookies would be a challenge for me and I was right, coming up with the perfect recipe for spicy cookies took some tries. I put a lot time and effort to make this recipe and hope you enjoy it.
Supplies
- 60 grams of bland butter (unsalted)
- 50 grams of brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 300 grams of all-purpose flour
- 2 small spoons of yeast
- 1 spoonful of honey
- 2 1/2 spoonfuls of cacao powder
- 1/2 small spoon of cinnamon powder
- 3 spoonfuls of cayenne pepper powder
- 50 grams of dark chocolate cut into small pieces
- Spoon
- Small spoon
- Fork
- Big bowl
- 2 small bowls
- Wax paper (Optional)
- Measuring cup
- Tray
- Sieve (Optional)
Step 1: Preheat Your Oven to 175ºC.
This step is important because you want to make sure your oven has the correct temperature when you put your cookies in.
Step 2: In a Small Bowl Beat the Bland Butter With the Sugar and Honey.
Mix until it has a uniform very light brown tone and it has no big lumps.
Step 3: In the Other Small Bowl Beat the Egg.
Beat the egg until it is a light yellow uniform tone, like in the second picture from above.
Step 4: Add the Beat Egg to the Honey, Bland Butter and Sugar Mixture.
Mix until it has a uniform light brown tone.
Step 5: Add the Egg, Honey, Sugar, and Bland Butter Mixture to the Big Bowl.
Step 6: (Optional) Sieve the All-purpose Flour.
This is so that there are no lumps in the all-purpose flour which will make mixing the dough easier.
Step 7: Add the All-purpose Flour, the Yeast, the Cacao Powder, the Cinnamon Powder and the Cayenne Pepper Powder to the Big Bowl and Mix Them.
Mix until they make a uniform dough with no big lumps.
Step 8: Add the Small Pieces of Chocolate to the Dough.
Mix until it is well distributed.
Step 9: (Optional) Put Baking Paper Over the Tray You Will Use.
This is so that the cookies do not stick to the tray (you can also use butter or cooking spray).
Step 10: Make Small Balls With the Dough, Put Them on the Tray and Press Them Down Lightly.
Optional: make shapes with the dough, either with a cookie cutter or your hands (do this before putting the dough on the tray on another flat surface).
Step 11: Put the Tray With Cookies in the Oven for Ten Minutes.
Step 12: Take the Tray Out of the Oven.
Use oven mitts so you don't get burned.
Step 13: Remove the Cookies From the Tray.
Wait for the cookies to cool and harden.
