Introduction: Spider Massacre

this is my first instructable - have fun. I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU DO WITH IT, BUT I'M IN NO WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR WHATEVER YOU DO WITH THIS GUN - just that you know. i originally made this gun for my little sister. she is very frightened by spiders and i built this gun for her so that she could get rid of the spiders without coming close. even for my little sister this gun is very easy to operate. just pull back the firing pin load ammo and fire. i designed it to fire green rods but the gun didn't work well, so i had to modify it. after modifying the green rods were the only rods that weren't shot properly by this gun. don't load green rods in the gun because it'll jam or the bullet will get stuck and when you fire, the force of the firing pin will break down parts of the gun. have fun.

Step 1: The Barrel

this gun has a quite short barrel in comparison to other guns. i did this on purpose because a longer barrel means more friction. the more friction, the more the range and the power of your gun will be reduced. however, a longer barrel does give more accuracy to the bullet so my gun has a bit less accuracy than most guns. it still is quite powerful.

Step 2: The Scope / Sight

i just made a very simple, small scope (or sight whatever you want to call it). it's just something to aim with. if you don't like how it looks, or you've got a better scope yourself, or you need to put anything else on top of the gun - don't worry, the scope is detachable. if you don't want the scope, just skip this step.

Step 3: The Body of the Gun.

this is the body of the gun. the barrel + sight, handle, trigger, firing pin will be conected to this.

the small black connector on the bottom of the pictures is a part of some k'nex chain. the left one is the original one and the right one is the modified one. (you need the modified one). you can get it by jumping on it.

Step 4: The Trigger and Firing Pin

this is no trigger you've seen in most k'nex guns so far, but a trigger like in real guns and rifles. when you push it back to far it will disconnect - just put it back. when you have any problems with doing this ill explain it to you guys later.

Step 5: Assembling What You've Made So Far

just put together the parts like on the pictures. should be
self-explanatory.

Step 6: The Handle

this is the handle. it's where you hold the gun.

uhmm..........yeah well, what else can i tell about it?

Step 7: The Body of the Gun (part II) + Assembling the Handle

this is the backside of the gun. it connects the handle with the gun and gives extra strength.

now assemble this thing plus the handle as shown in the pictures

Step 8: Adding Firing Pin and Rubberbands

just put tin the firing pin and then add the rubberband(s) like on the pictures. make sure the barrel is free and the trigger is open before you put the firing pin in.

don't put too many rubberbands on it because the gun isn't made for huge forces and impacts. like 1-3 is enough. just decide for yourself.

Step 9: YAY...firing the Gun

just pull back the firing pin until you hear a *click* of the trigger blocking the firing pin. load ammo and shoot.

i'm currently working on the Spider Massacre Sniper Rifle. i tried to make a shotgun version, but, i messed up that project completely. if any of you guys could make a shotgun version of this gun - post it.
