Introduction: Spooky Halloween Wall Art

In this tutorial I will give you some inspiration for a Halloween drawing to give your bedroom, dorm room, living room, etc.. a little Halloween spirit. Feel free to add anything you would like to make your Halloween drawing as unique as possible.

Material: Pencil, Paper, and Color Pencils

Step 1: Shape of Head

Draw an upside down egg to start off the head and draw two lines under the head for the neck. (Do not bring the neck to a close you will need it to be open for a step further in this tutorial.) Once this step is complete you should have the outline of the neck and head drawn.

Step 2: Proportioning Head

Proportion head so that you can know where everything on the face will line up. Draw a vertical line down the center of the face, a horizontal line approximately in the center of the head, draw another horizontal line half the distance from the previous line, and repeat that step once more for the last line. Once this step is complete the guidelines for the facial features should be complete and it will help with further steps.

Step 3: Eyes

To draw the eyes use your top proportion line. Draw a dot in the center of the line and place a dot on each side half the distance from the dot placed in the center of the line. After that shape the eyes to the desired effect.Once you have completed this step the outline of the eyes should be complete.

Step 4: Nose

Draw an hour glass/Erlenmeyer flask (whichever option works best for you) that stops on the 2nd proportion line to begin the shape of the nose. Then shape the nose to your liking. You should have a complete outline of the nose after this step.

Step 5: Mouth

Draw a "C" flipped on its side on the proportion line below the nose to begin shape of the top lip. Draw the top lip and make the corners of the lip line up with the center of the eye. Draw bottom lip by making a half circle that connects to the top lip. Shape the mouth tho your liking. You should have a complete outline of the mouth after this step is complete.

Step 6: Neck Graphics

Draw veins and flesh hanging out of the neck to give it a more graphic Halloween look. Only half of the neck is complete in the example given to give you somewhat of an idea of where to start if you are unsure where or how to start when trying to complete this step. Once you are finished the neck should have veins/flesh hanging out of it.

Step 7: Item Placed on Head (Your Choice)

This step is completely up to you. You can add any item on the head to add your own personal touch to the drawing or you could just draw hair. For my drawing I decided to place a silk wave cap on the head. Look at the drawing in the image given for an example of how to draw a wave cap if you would like to draw one as well.

Step 8: Background Items

Draw a moon in the background wherever you desire to fill space in the background. Draw a small house and outline where you want fog to be placed around the house. Add anything else that you wish to give the drawing your personal touch. Once this step is complete the outline of your drawing should be finished.

Step 9: Clean Up Drawing

Clean up any undesired lines or marks created while drawing the outline of the head. Completing this step will help make the coloring of the picture look a lot cleaner and precise.

Step 10: Coloring

This is the longest step, but it is the final step. At this point you may begin coloring the drawing. It is up to you to decide which color you would like your Halloween drawing to be. After you are finished coloring it you can place it in a picture frame and hang it up or use simply use thumb TAC's to pin the drawing on the wall.
