Intro: Spring Floral Nail Art

Nail Art is a big fashion in my country right now, and although I am not very good at it, I like to try it from time to time.

I used purple nail polish as base for my nail art and painted the flowers with acrylic paints...I know it may sound weird but it really works! All you have to do is adding top coat at the end to protect the whole decoration.

As you can see, it is not perfect but I hope you like it, and you'll probably be able to make it better than mine! :)

STEP 1: What You Need

STEP 2:

First of all apply the base coat on your nails and let it dry.

Apply your purple nail polish and let it dry too.
You may need more than one layer of nail polish, it depends on how bright your color is after the first layer. Remember that it must be exactly like the color of your nail polish bottle to be perfect.

Once the nail polish has completely dried, use the buffer to rub it gently and make it matt.
This will help you to have a better effect when you use the acrylic paint. Don't worry if it seems ugly now, the ruined effect will disappear after you apply the top coat at the end.

ps: I know that my nail polish seems red instead of purple, I thought the color was as it is in reality but later I noticed that the pictures changed the color, I am sorry :(

STEP 3:

It's time to start the decoration!

Take your white and blue acrylic paints and your flat brush:
dip one tip of your brush in the white paint and the other tip in the blue paint. This way you'll be able to create a shade.
You can try it on a plate or piece of paper before starting.

Now paint petals of flowers anywhere on your nails, as you can see in the pictures.
All you have to do is painting little segments close to each other and the shade will automatically appear.

Let the first layer dry and apply another layer of color to correct possible mistakes (like I did :D) and make the color look more solid.
Let it dry.

STEP 4:

Take the yellow paint and the round brush or nail dotter now.

Dip the brush in the paint and start to paint the center of your flowers. You just need to make a dot when the flower is very small.
Let it dry and just like you did before, apply another layer of color.

My thumb ended up being less full than the other nails so I decided to make 3 dots in the free corners.
This is up to you of course, but I thought it turned out nice!

Let everything dry very well and finally, apply top coat on your nails so that they will be glossy again.

And voilà, your nails are done, ready for spring! :)

I have really short nails. Will it still work?
This depends very much on how small you can paint the flowers...maybe you can just paint a few petals on some angles, it would still look nice! My nails are not very big either so you should be able to do this too :)

does the acrylic paint come off with regular nail polish remover? i'm guessing it does since you went ahead and painted your nails with actual paint, anyways, haha
