Intro: Spruce Up Your Old Computer With Paint!!!

This is my first Instructable tell me what you think and give me some ideas to do for other Instructables.

In this Instructable I will show you how to make an old computer tower look new and awesome like that gaming tower you always wanted!!!
For this  Instructable i used an older Gateway tower that the processor blew from DDR2 ram put into a DDR slot :(   (not my fault the computer was given to me after the problem to fix it)

My colors I chose where because of fourth of July next week ;)

The materials you need are any kind of spray paint (for plastics use krylon plastic fusion)
1) as many colors of paint that you want (the more colors the more work)
2) Masking tape
3) scissors
4) screw drivers
5) marker or pencil
6) exacto knife

Step 1) take the whole tower apart. (while taking apart make sure to clean every thing)

Step 2) find a design/s that you want to use

Step 3) start with 1 color and mask off everything else that wont be that color with tape and paper

Step 4) WARNING PAINT IN A WELL VENTILATED PLACE (like out-side) when done painting let sit for 20 min to an hour ( the Arizona heat baked the paint in about 10 min)

Step 5) once dry remove the tape and paper to reveal a crisp clean line

Step 6) if using more than 1 color or design repeat steps 3-5

Step 7) tape over the whole design/s (to the outer most line until the whole design/s is tape)

Step 8) paint over entire thing make sure to get a good even coat let dry then remove the tape covering the design/s

Step 9) Use acrylic paint to fill in the lines refer to your design/s for which color goes where

Step 10) you can use a clear coat paint to give extra protection/ sheen (i didn't)

Step 11) once everything is dry and safe to touch put it back together and admire it take pics or start it up and do your thing!!!!

Thank you for staying with me and I hope you like this Instructable and it helps you to getting that awesome tower you always wanted but couldn't afford.

I have that same computer but im going to repaint it silver
oh yeah cool i think its time for me to re-due it and possibly do a clear view into the case with the skull design!
very interesting! it looks professional, yet the directions show how easy it is for anybody. thanx for posting the details!
Thank you! I did the painting with spray paint because it's easy for almost anyone to shake and spray rather than using a brush or air brush for big surfaces. Although the next case I will paint will be with a spray-paint base coat and the design will be air brushed on with added detail and color!!!
Thanks for your interest in my Instructable!!!!
