Introduction: Starbucks Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew COPYCAT Recipe
Fall is right around the corner and around this time of year, Starbucks releases their fall flavors. This year they released a Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew and I, of course HAD to try it. The first one that I bought was perfect (second time around was a different story) and it is still pretty hot outside so the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte isn't my thing at the moment. This drink was not only refreshing, it had sweetened cream on top and all the right flavors of fall all in one cup. Once my husband had a sip he looked at me and told me I had to recreate this drink at home. I was a bit nervous but thankfully, I was able to recreate it successfully! The best part is the price, if you make it at home, it (venti size) costs less than $1 as opposed to $5 at a Starbucks cafe. For this instructable, I used my kitchen skills to create my own version of the pumpkin creme cold brew recipe! Supplies
Step 1: Ingredients
Pumpkin Vanilla Syrup
- ½ cup Water
- ½ cup Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Pumpkin Puree
- 1 teaspoon Pumpkin Spice
- 1 Tablespoon Vanilla
Cream Top
- 1 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream
- Pumpkin Vanilla Syrup
- Cold Brew Coffee
- Ice
Step 2: Making the Syrup
To a saucepan add water, sugar, pumpkin puree (make sure it is puree and NOT pumpkin pie filling) and pumpkin spice.
Step 3: Simmer Ingredients
Bring a mixture to a simmer, make sure you stir mixture and allow sugar to full dissolve. Once mixture is at a simmer and sugar is fully dissolved, take it off the stove.
Step 4: Run Mixture Through Nut Milk Bag
Allow the mixture to cool slightly. Once cool to touch, run mixture through a fine mesh sieve or nut milk bag.
Step 5: Add Vanilla
Add in vanilla and stir the mixture. Allow mixture to fully cool, I wrapped mine with plastic wrap and placed it in the refrigerator to cool over night.
Step 6: Optional: Homemade Cold Brew Coffee
You can make your own cold brew coffee the night before by adding 1 cup of coffee beans to a coffee grinder and grinding it until it is coarsely ground. Add the ground coffee to 4 cups of cold water, stir and wrap with plastic wrap. Place in refrigerator overnight and allow to steep 12-18 hours. The next day strain mixture using a nut milk bag and you have homemade cold brew coffee.
Step 7: Beating the Heavy Cream
In a large bowl or measuring cup, add in heavy cream and beat until just stiff (beat it more if you want your cream more stiff on top). If you don't beat the heavy cream enough, it will sink to the bottom and combine with the coffee a lot faster. This is OK, if that is your preference.
Step 8: Add Syrup
Add in pumpkin vanilla syrup (you can add less if it is too sweet) into the heavy cream and beat until incorporated.
Step 9: Assemble
Add ice to a glass, add in cold brew coffee and top off with cream topping. Sprinkle on top extra pumpkin spice.
Step 10: Enjoy!
Enjoy this refreshing fall drink while the weather is still warm!
