Introduction: Starburst Braid

About: what's up i'm theo and i love crafts :)

This gorgeous braid, which is modeled on my even more gorgeous sister, may look hard, but it's actually just a french braid! That's right! The only difference is where you add the hair in.

On to the hair!

Step 1: Materials

For this hairdo you will need:

A Brush

Two ponytail holders, small preferably

A large clip (optional) to hold hair away

Several bobby pins to finish off the braid with

Step 2: Setting Up

Comb the hair smooth. This hairstyle works best on straight hair, but feel free to do it on any type of hair! Section off a large circle in the center of your head. Comb it smooth and into a ponytail, making sure it's not too tight. Tilt your head down, and spread out the hair around the center of the ponytail, as shown in the last picture. Make sure it's evenly distributed.

Step 3: Braiding

Peek through the hair from the circle, and grab a small section of hair from behind the ear. Divide this into three sections, and do one braid stitch (top goes over the middle, bottom goes over the middle). When you are crossing the top strand for the second time. grab a small (and I mean SMALL) piece of hair from the circle section, and add it into the top strand, like a french braid (see?). Then, cross the bottom strand of hair over the middle, adding in some additional hair that is NOT in the circle section. Repeat these steps all the way around the head. Make sure that you take small sections, so that when you get to the back of the head, you don't run out of hair too soon. Secure the end with a ponytail holder.

Step 4: Hiding the Ends & Securing the Braid

Right in front of the ear, where you started the braid, lift up the sections added in from the circle and tuck the end of the braid in there. Use bobby pins to secure the braid in there, and make sure that the ends don't peek through.

Step 5: The Finished Look!

And after using bobby pins, you are done! Congrats! This is a beautiful design that's simple to make. Enjoy!
