State Yarn Board.

Intro: State Yarn Board.

I saw this on Pinterest and with Valentines Day coming up soon I thought it would be the perfect present for my girlfriend. She was born in Kentucky and moved to Texas when she was young. So I thought it would be great to place both States on the board.

List of materials:
1X Craft Board (Hobby Lobby)
1X Hammer
1X Black spray paint
2X small tack nails 36 pc.
1X Roll of yarn.

STEP 1: Prep Steps

First paint the board black.
Then find a picture on line of your chosen state. Make sure you print a few out to find which size you want.
Cut out the outline of the state.
Then Nail around the outline with your tack nails.
Pull the outline out and choose your heart location. For mine I chose our college town and her hometown.

STEP 2: Final Steps

After your heart location is set and nailed in then take your yarn and tie the end around a tack. Now start winding the yarn around the heart tacks. I would change heart tacks about every 5-8 outline tacks.

The most important part of this is to keep the line taut throughout the whole process.

Once the the center is filled with yarn tie it off to one of the outside tacks.

STEP 3: Optional Last Step

I tied off to one of the tacks and then made an outline around the outside to give it a full look. I like it alot better than the others I've seen online.

STEP 4: Hang It Up on the Wall!

Go appreciate your new piece of wall art and admire it! My girlfriend loved it and hopefully you will too.
