Introduction: Steampunk Cellphone
This instructable will show you how to modify your cellphone to make a perfectly functional steampunk cellphone.
Step 1: Materials
-Pliers and wire cutter
-Liquid silicone glue
-Pure talc
-Hanger
-Golden nails
-Stick to mix the silicone
-Fixative spray
-Disposable cup
-Black nail polish
-2 pens
-Bronze paint (I used bronze wax paint, but it's not necesary for it to be wax)
-Cellphone (duh)
Step 2: Disassemble
Disassemble the cellphone and choose the parts that you are going to modify.
Step 3: Mix
Mix in a 50/50 proportion the pure talc and the silicone and paint the parts you choose. Try to give them an irregular texture, later it will look like rusted metal.
The decorations are added when the mix is still fresh, and before painting the cellphone with the nail polish and the bronze paint.
Step 4: Decorations and Painting
Cut the heads of the nails (you are not going to stick the entire nail into the cellphone duh), and place them where they fit right your cellphone.
I used the buttons of the pens to make a starting and ending to the wire of the hanger. And my cellphone has a light, so I found a random metal piece to adorn it.
After you place all the decorations, use the black nail polish as a base, then, when your cellphone is completely painted, use the bronze paint. Clean a little the bronze paint to let the black polish stand out and make the rust effect.
Step 5: Finished
Assemble your cellphone and make sure it still works XD.

Nice idea. I have a bunch of old cellphones lying around (working but not hooked up) & this would be a good project to fiddle with. Thanks for the idea :)
