Okay! First instructable! YAAY! For my first instructable I will be making a steampunk gun. This will (hopefully) be very simple and produce a decent product.

Step 1: DISCLAIMER!

I will be removing the orange cap common on play guns. This is THE ONLY THING that tells people it is fake! If you choose to do this also I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE for arrests, or any other act of self defense against you.

Step 2: Materials and Tools

Here are the things you'll need

Materials
•fake gun
•gold, silver, black, and brown paint
•additional details (gears, nuts, and bolts) this is totally optional and is completely up to you

Tools
•knive (serrated)
•superglue
•Paintbrushes
•sandpaper

Okay! Now you have your materials, lets get started!

Step 3: Cutting and Sanding

Okay now you have to get the gun in the general shape you want. You might want to shorten the barrel or take off any undesired details. What I did was take of the orange cap (note:DISCLAIMER) and a small dial thing under the barrel.

Step 4: Painting

For this part you most likely know what to do. What I did is painted the handle brown and black/silver. I also painted the clip black/silver. And finally I painted the stock and barrel gold. I also painted a tiny dial from the original gun for the next step.

Step 5: Details

This step is just adding details like gears, dials, etc.. What I did was add a dial from when I was sanding and cutting. I painted this black/silver and added it to the barrel.
