Where do you get your brass applications?

Hi you said wax stain do you mean wood stain from miniwax? Or if not then where would you get wax stain ppl at lowes had no idea what i was asking for.

Thanks,
Good morning,

I used this stain from Selva.de:

http://www.selva.de/product_info.php?cPath=&upage=1&sPath=&products_id=Wachsbeize%20097510&language=en

This stain is wax and water based and produces a wax film on the surface.
You can use something similar. I tried also some water based glaze. The results are not so good but it is working. Try a little bit around on some old plastic pieces to find out the best results.

I read a bit on the miniwax homepage. I think you can try this:

http://www.minwax.com/wood-products/stains/minwax-gel-stain

This sounds quite good.

Have fun and please post your results here.

With kind regards,

Horatius
the mouse is cool but you should have done something to the keys to make them look more steam punkish
Yes I could. But I did not because it was an "The easy way instructable".

I am looking really forward to see yours regarding a similar mouse with more steampunkish keys.

With kind regards,

Horatius Steam
I am impressed once again but not surprised following your projects for quite some time. You are a big inspiration for me Mr. Steam!
Keep up the good work!
*make a bow* :-)

Thank you very much my Lady.

What a great conversion, I have really wanted to do my key board to match my monitor, but I just don't have the time with all the other projects,

This looks like one a person could do in a day.
Using napkins is a great idea - the texture looks very nice!
Yeah FTW. Fantastic idea. Now the challenge; try to find thing to NOT use this method on. Ha Ha Ha
