Fantastic! I love that it is hunky, and definately has a steampunk vibe to it! I might stain the wood to a deeper mahogany color (seems to fit the steampunk theme better), but this is a fantastic project!

well taking into consideration the fact that it is cedar i didnt really want to stain it at all... however i was thinking of maybe adding some clear coat to the wood or rub some oil into it just to bring out the natural lustre but other than that i liked it natural

Yep. I like this one. I see lots of variations on the same theme from homemade pocket knives to lighters. Bong's right, though: it could stand to lose a little weight via a good upright shaping/belt sander. . . .Now, about that thumb ring. :->
