Intro: Stop Motion Animation

Today, I'm going to show you how to make a short video, using stop motion animation.

Stop motion animation is the way in which you can make play-doh come to life!!

I'm going to make a snake video.

This is my first instrctable, so please feel free to comment honestly, and post constructive criticism.

STEP 1: Equipment:

You will need:

A camera (preferably digital)
A tripod (or something else to hold the camera still)
Subject(s) e.g. a play-doh model, or a barbie doll
A computer with Windows movie maker or similar
A microphone (optional)

STEP 2: Get the Footage

Put the camera on the tripod, then place your subject on the ground.
Take a picture, then move the subject slightly.

Repeat until you have plenty of frame's

10 frames= 3 seconds

STEP 3: Compile

Upload the images onto your computer, then go into windows movie maker, then, put the images in the timeline, one at a time, and give them all the double speed effect twice, shorten the clip size, and save.

STEP 4: Done!

Now you're done!!!

Here's my video!

your instructable says '10 frame for 3 seconds' but the pros like shaun the sheep use about 25 frames per second try that instead

Awesome I didn't know there were so many stopmotioners in this world! I have tons of stop motion on my iPad mini right now!
Isn't it easier to use a normal video camera and hit record in short bursts as you inch your worm along? It is much easier cuz you don't have to stick it all together in Movie Maker.
Hey, guess what I did today!! I know this is silly but I was waiting to get my kids from school and thought I'd try it! I would love to hear your advice.
This instructable is very straightforward and I appreciate that! It looks like it is going to be exactly what I was looking for. I've been wanting to try a stop motion project but the other instructions that I've read seem to complicated. I'm gonna try this-even if my subject is lame-and post it sometime this week! Thanks for posting!
