Intro: Stove Top Pizza | No Oven Pizza

Whenever I plan to make pizza, I start my preparation at least 4 hours before because of its resting time and baking time. But this recipe requires only less than 20 minutes.

No Resting time, No yeast, No water for dough making. The crust is crispy bottom, soft and fluffy in texture. I added spinach, mushroom, onion and bacon for toppings. It taste so good and we liked this quick pizza recipe. Try it out, I hope you ll like it as much as we did.

Dough preparation : 3 minutes

Assembling pizza : 3 minutes

Cooking time : 10 to 12 minutes

Cooking method: Stove top

Yield : 8 medium slices

STEP 1: Ingredients

For Pizza Dough

1 cup All purpose flour

1 large Egg

3 tbsp Curd/Yogurt

1 tsp Baking powder

2 tbsp oil for dough + 1 tbsp for greasing the pan

1/2 tsp Salt

For Toppings

1/2 cup sliced Mushroom

1/3 cup chopped onions

1/2 cup chopped Spinach

1/2 cup roughly chopped cooked Bacon

4 tbsp Pizza sauce

3/4 cup Mozzarella cheese

For Cooking Pizza:

Heavy bottom pan with its lid ( I used 8 inch pan)

STEP 2: Dough Making

In a mixing bowl, add egg, curd, oil and salt. Mix with spoon/spatula until all well combined.

Sift flour and baking powder, mix and knead without any lumps. ( Add extra oil and knead, if its sticky)

STEP 3: Pizza Making

Take heavy bottom pan and grease it with some oil.

spread the dough evenly on the pan.

Spoon some pizza sauce on dough and spread it with spoon.

Add on all the toppings. First I have added onions, then spinach, then mushroom, then bacon.

Finally sprinkle mozzarella cheese on it.

STEP 4: Stove Top Pizza

Place the pan on stove, set the flame to high.

Close the pan with its lid.

Cook for 2 minutes in high flame.

Then reduce the flame to medium and cook for 8 more minutes.

After 8 minutes, open the lid and check the top and base of the pizza.

The base should be turn to golden brown color.

If its not done, cook for 2 more minutes with closed lid.

Once it cooked, remove the pan from flame. Tilt the pan to 45 degree, the pizza will slide to the plate easily.

Sprinkle some chili flakes on pizza and slice it up and serve.

Enjoy..

Can i use wheat flour instead of all purpose flour. And with the same amount of ingredients ????

Has anyone experimented with adding garlic/herbs to the crust?

Very good work I personally liked it
I just want to know if any substitute for egg or is there a need for egg
You know Indian I am a vegan :-)

I make pizza this way, but my dough doesn't have an egg. The ingredients just for the dough are:

1 cup all purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon active dry yeast

1 teaspoon sugar

2/3 cup warm water

Mix in a bowl, spread in non-stick skillet and use the same instructions as with this Instructable for cooking and toppings. Good luck!

Thank for the information ?
Have a great pizza

I Searched in google, It says you can replace 1 egg with 1/4 cup of silk Tofu. Blend it with some water and add to the dough. I will also try next time with tofu. Thanks :)

thank you @Bhawya

You could probably just make it without the egg and add a little extra liquid. Just like a flatbread. But the tofu sounds like an interesting idea. Might have to try that myself.

Done it two times, and will make more for sure. We loved it, thank you!

I just made this- literally, I'm eating it right now- and I had to come back to comment again because it is SO GOOD!!!

I made the dough exactly like the recipe, using the yogurt. Since it was only for my lunch, I just spread a little butter on it, sprinkled on some garlic and oregano and added cheese, tomatoes and green onions. And it was so fast, it hardly takes any more time than making a sandwich. I will definitely be making it again, with the sauce and all the toppings. Thank you for the awesome recipe! =D

Thank you so much for ur kind words :) I am so glad. Sure, I will be waiting for your stovetop pizza picture.

I will try. I have never been able to get the "I made it" feature to work. But it looks like things have changed a lot here so maybe it will work now.

I'm not sure, because I have never made this, but I think you could also use butter milk or soured milk. Maybe sour cream would work?.... I'll have to experiment.

Awesome idea. Perfect for a hot, humid day.

The dough is similar to "farles"- fried soda bread/bannock/scones... except for the egg, and using yogurt instead of buttermilk.
