Intro: Strawberry Ice Lolly

Summer is finally here. This is a very simple treat we make on regular basis to help kill the heat. It's simple, healthy and cheap. Kids love it. It taste great and it doesn't make a mess like traditional popsicles who get runny very quickly. My little girl insisted that we share this recipe on Instructables so here it is. She helped making the ice lollies and did all the set up for the photos. Enjoy!

STEP 1: Supplies

The only ingredient is obviously some strawberries.
The only material you need is a bag of ice lolly sticks. No mould is required.

STEP 2: Preparation

Take a handful of strawberries, give then a good wash and cut off the tops.

STEP 3: Assembling the Ice Lolly

Pair the strawberries by size, join them base to base and insert the stick all the way through.

Place in the freezer for a few hours.

STEP 4: Enjoy

Your strawberry ice lollies are ready. Just enjoy!

... sorry, only one left for the photo. Some little hands got hold of the three others!

Good way to get my son to eat more fruit also I'm gonna try this

You can also try with bananas. Just take half of it so it fit on the stick. Taste is nice but it doesn't beat the strawberry. If your son doesn't like it, here is how I got my girls to like fruits: take a thin wooden stick: kebbab stick, toothpick, whatever you can get. The longer the better. Than stick all kind of fruits on it: grapes, strawberry, apple slices, etc. It looks nice and colorful, and they love picking the fruits out of it. They called it their fruit BBQ.

Hahaha cool Idea will try that out thank you
Would it work with Nutella topping ? I'm so gonna try this one day :P

Sorry my reply keeps being deleted. I try a third time. Nutella won't work because it contains palm oil which doesn't freeze. Just use normal cooking chocolate. Melt it and dip the top of the lollies in it because you place them in the freezer.

Nothing stop you doing the same non-frozen version in winter! See my reply to Thatdan above. I describe how I do some fruit sticks. Not as yummy, but my little one love it and eat their daily fruits.

Yes, very simple and since children can make it them self they cannot wait to eat it. That's more healthy than the industrial version. Make sure you have some spare one because it's very popular with adults as well.
