Introduction: Street Address Number Display
Display the numbers of your street address on a wooden plaque.
Step 1: Get Your Materials
Here's what you will need to make your plaque honoring your street address numbers...
- an old piece of wood in need of a fun makeover
- wooden or metal numbers that represent the first numbers of your street address (mine are 155)
- Cardstock
- Tacky glue
- glue gun
- Duct tape
- scissors
- X acto knife and cutting mat
Step 2: Prep Wood
Start by covering your wood piece with cardstock.
Step 3: Decorate
Now, here comes the difficult part. Cut off several pieces of duct tape and cover the numbers with them. It might require the use of your X acto knife to cut off several areas to make it easier to fold over. It was a lot of hard work for me, but it was worth it. I'm pretty sure it will be the same for you too! It just takes a lite bit of skill and patience! I chose leopard printed duct tape to give a nice bold contrast to the bright yellow paper.
Step 4: Add Numbers to Plaque
Now, add hot glue to the backs of your numbers and attach them to your plaque, along with a few other emellishments if you choose, like I did here with two small buttons. These buttons give a nice compliment to the plaque without making it look too safe.
Step 5: Display
Once the glue has dried, it ready to display on your shelf or mantel! This makes for a great gift, especially for a married couple moving to a new home!
