Introduction: Stress Balls
Materials:
- Balloon
- Flour
- Stick (either a pencil or...just a stick!)
- Funnel
- Sharpie
Skill Level: Easy Peasy. A kid could do this one!
Step 1: Blow It Up
First off, blow up the balloon to stretch it out. Let the air out.
Step 2: Attach the Balloon to the Funnel
Next, slip the balloon onto the funnel. Dump some flour into the funnel.
Step 3: Fill the Balloon
Take your stick and begin pushing the flour through the funnel and into the balloon. Don't just push it into the bottom of the funnel; push the stick all the way down into the balloon. Continue until all the flour is gone from the funnel. It is your choice whether you want to add more flour, but I usually end up filling the funnel twice. It really just depends on the size of your funnel and how big you want your stress ball to be.
Step 4: Tie
Slip the balloon off the funnel. I recommend doing this over a bowl because sometimes there is excess flour in the bottom of the funnel and it can go all over the place if you aren't careful. Tie a tight knot, and wipe off the flour, if there is any, on the outside of the balloon for a clean, smooth surface.
Step 5: Decorate!
Here is the fun part: decoration time! You may choose just to leave your stress ball plain, but I find this to be boring. To liven it up a bit, take a black sharpie and draw a cute or funny face on your stress ball. You could even draw designs on the ball; the choice is up to you! Let it dry for a few minutes, then it is ready to be used!
Squeeze it, squash it, throw it around! Use your stress ball to release stress or just to have fun! I have to admit, it can kind of get addicting after a while.
