I decided to use some of the leftover pallet wood from the doghouse and create a Halloween decoration. It's a Sugar Skull Wall Hanging.
You will need:
- Scrap wood
- Glue
- Screws
- Stencils
- Acrylic paint
- Stencil brush
- Screws
Step 1: Cut Four Pieces of Wood Cut to Similar Lengths.
Step 2: Cut Two Pieces of Wood That Are Cut Slightly Shorter Than the Size of the Previous Four Put Together.
Step 3: Put Glue Onto the Two Back Pieces and Apply to the Back of the Four Pieces Put Together.
Step 4: Screw the Two Pieces to the Back of the Four Pieces - It Will Keep Them Together. I Used 8 Screws. Make Sure They Are Not Too Long. You Don't Want to Drill Through and Have Them Poking Out the Front.
Step 5: Using a Gray and White Acrylic Paint, Mix With Water and Give the Wood - Front and Back - a Wash. Allow to Dry.
Step 6: Stencil the Skull Onto the Wood. My Stencil and Crossbones. I Taped Them Off, So I Wouldn't Stencil Them Also.
Step 7: Once Dry, Use Other Stencils, or Parts of Other Stencil to Create Patterns and Designs on the Skull. Make It Colorful.
Step 8: I Used a Flat Brush to Paint Teeth.
Step 9: I Used a Golf Tee to Make Small Polka Dots.
Step 10: Stencil Roses Around the Skull.
