Introduction: Sunburst Filigree Earring

Step 1: Prepare Lengths of Beading and Metal Wire

Cut a 24 inch length of wire. Set Aside. Cut the 22 gauge wire into two 1 1/2 inch pieces. Set aside.

Step 2: Attach 7mm Bead to Filigree

Use one of the flexible wire lengths to string on a 7mm bead. Sew the bead to the center of one of the dapped flowers, leaving a 4-inch tail. Tie the ends into a tight square knot at the back of the flower. Don't trim the ends.

Step 3: Add Beads to Petals

Pass the flexible wire up through the flower to exit from a filigree hole at the base of the petal. String on four 2 mm beads and pass down through the petal's point, opposite from where you exited. Pass up through the hole on the other side of the petal point, string on four more 2 mm beads, and pass down through the filigree at the base of the petal. Skip a filigree petal and pass up through the base of the next petal. Repeat this step twice to add beads to the third and fifth petal.

Step 4: Attach Filigrees Together With Jump Ring

Stack the beaded flower with a flat flower, back touching and petals aligned. Use jump rings to connect the unbeaded petal points to their flat filigree mates. Set aside.

Step 5: Create a 7mm Bead Link

Form a simple loop at one end of one of the wire pieces. Slip on one 7 mm bead and form another simple loop to secure the bead. Set the link aside.

Step 6: Connect Link to Filigree and Ear Wire

Connect the end of the link to a jump ring on the flower. Connect the other end of the link to an ear wire.

Step 7: Repeat to Make Second Earring

Repeat steps 3 through 7 to make second earring.
