Introduction: Sundae Cupcakes
This was a family project with my sisters, step-mom and one of my friends! we had so much fun. My little sister was sick but at the end of the night she looked a lot better and said she haven't laugh so much in a long time. You see my my dad is divorcing my step-mom and it has been a difficult time for all of us, but mostly my little sister. I haven't been there for them but I made I promise that I would, so I took this idea I saw in the internet and changed a few things, and BOOM! A easy, delicious dessert and a wonderful time with my family.
You can change anything you like, from the flavor of the Ice cream, whip cream into frosting and the the kind of cupcake you want. Put more toppings on the top, crumble the cake and put in the bottom of the cone and then the ice cream on top. Make your on instructable :) oh! and the pics aren't a good quality do to poor lighting, either way have fun!!!!
INGREDIENTS:
- Ice cream cones
- Semi-sweet chocolate baking bar
- Ice cream
- Cake mix from a box
- Whipped Cream
- Sprinkles
- Cherries
- Milk
- Vegetable oil
- Eggs (3)
Materials
- Spoon
- Ice cream spoon (if you have one, if not use a regular spoon)
- Cupcake pan
- Napkins
- Metal Bowl or plastic one that can be used in microwave
- Normal knife
- Whisk and big bowl for the one mixes the cake
Step 1: Bake
Her we will make the cake batter from a box mix. First take the cupcake pan and use a napkin with oil and spreed it all around the cupcake holes, this will prevent the cupcakes from sticking into the pan (we used a cheap one from the supermarket cause we had a budget). After that turn on the oven at 350 so it will pre-heat. Now we make the cupcake batter, this is super easy, just follow the instructions on the back of the box. You will need eggs, vegetable oil and water. In materials you will use a whisk, a bowl to mix and the oiled cupcake pan. After the batter is done poor it into each cupcake hole and bake.
Step 2: Chocolate
While the cupcakes are baking, start melting the semi-sweet baking chocolate bar ( you can use caramel candy squares too if or if you like butterscotch mini kisses). Put a metal bowl on top of a sauce pan filled with 1 or 2 cups of water it depend on the size of the sauce pan. This is known as a water bath or in Spanish "Baño de María". Put the chocolate bar in the bowl and a little bit of mill, not a lot cause then it will be very liquid and we don't want that. With the whisk or spoon start mixing the chocolate until smooth. Take the ice cream cones dip them upside side down into the chocolate and straiten the cup fast so the chocolate starts dripping down the cone. Set aside the cones so the chocolate drips and cools down.
Step 3: Cupcakes
Check the cupcakes to see if they're done. If they are golden brown on the top and if you place a knife or a tooth pic in the middle of the cake and it comes out clean they be done!!! take them out of the oven wait for it too cool off a bit and with the knife separate the cupcakes from the the pan and popped them out or turn over the pan so they fall on too the table.
Step 4: Ice Cream
Now take some ice cream, any flavor!, and scoop a small quantity into the lower part of the cone until you fill it.
Step 5: Finish
After the Ice cream put the cupcakes on top of it. Make sure it fits correctly and doesn't fall off easy. Decorate the cupcake with whipped cream, sprinkles and a cherry. And your done a cupcake sundae! easy and very yum yum!!!! I loved doing this project try with your kids.
