Introduction: Super Easy Giant Tissue Flowers

About: I enjoy making things. My making them is usually based on necessity, the fact that it doesn't exist, and/or buying it pre-done would be way more expensive. I like all kinds of projects and find this site a ver…

This Ible came about when I was looking for quick and easy background decorations for a photo booth at a Quinceañera for my friend's daughter. The end result has big impact and is very cost effective, since each flower is about a dollar to make and decorates a large area. Here we go......

Step 1: Materials

Gift tissue paper - Each flower uses 35 sheets- I used 20 x20 sheet from the dollar store

5 Paper clips

Foam or paper plate

Low temp glue gun

Low temp glue sticks

Scissors

Step 2: Assembling the Petal

Take seven sheets and stack them on top of each other.I chose to do six white sheets with one colored one on top. Accordion fold the stack, making 1 1/2 inch pleats. when done paper clip one side about 4 1/2 inches from the edge.

Repeat this 4 more times to complete all your petals for the flower.

Step 3: Forming the Petal

Take the scissors and round the top edges of the petals. You can leave it like this for large petals. I chose to cut two rounded triangle indentations into the large petal, to give the illusion of smaller petals.

Repeat this for all the petals.

Once trimmed, begin lifting petals towards the paper clip, from the front to the back. This will give the flower volume. Then, do the same thing for the 4 1/2 inch section.

Repeat this for all the petals.

Once you are done, the petals should each have a flat pleated base underneath.

Step 4: Building the Flower

With the hot glue gun, put glue on the pleated bottom of a petal and press onto plate. Continue around the plate until all five petals are in. Make sure the petals are glued close to each other to create the center. Fluff center and petals as needed.

You can thread the foam plate, if you choose to hang the flower.

Step 5: Enjoy Your Flower!!

Thats it!. The flowers are very light and can be hung easily if preferred. Feel free to comment with any flowers you make with this ible. Enjoy!
