Introduction: Super Glue and Baking Soda - Plastic Key Pocket Protector

Having keys in your pocket can create a hole from the key's sharpe edges, leading to the keys falling out and you to be locked out of your own home. This can be prevented with a Plastic key pocket protector made from super glue and baking soda.

Supplies

Super Glue
Baking Soda
Cling film
Plastic gloves

Step 1: Protect the Keys

The keys are used as a mould to make a plastic sheath around them.
Protect the keys by wrapping them in some cling film.
Wrap this with a paper tissue, trim the tissue with scissors as required.

Step 2: Apply Super Glue and Baking Soda

Wear a pair of plastic gloves to prevent your fingers being struck together when using superglue and have plenty of ventilation by working in front of an open window.

Apply super glue to to tissue and sprinkle on baking soda. This turns the super glue into plastic straight away. You can also apply baking soda and then the super glue. Cover only the part of the keys which go into the lock.

Remove the keys and cling film.
Trim with scissors.

A rubber band can also be attached to secure the pocket protector to the keys.

Your pocket protector has now been made.
