Introduction: Sweet & Spicy Jalapeño Cheddar Cornbread
In this instructable, I will show you how to make Sweet & Spicy Jalapeño Cheddar Cornbread.
Step 1: Ingredients
For this recipe, you will need:
1/2 c melted butter,
1/2 tsp baking soda,
1c buttermilk,
1 c cornmeal,
1/2 tsp salt,
1 c all purpose flour,
2/3 c shredded sharp cheddar cheese,
2/3 c sugar,
2 eggs
2 jalapeño peppers
Step 2: In a Medium Bowl
Whisk together your eggs, milk and melted butter.
Step 3: Raising the Heat a Little
Remove the seeds from the jalapeño peppers and cut them into small pieces.
Step 4: In a Large Bowl
Mix the cornmeal, flour, jalapeño peppers, cheese and salt together.
Step 5: Don't Get Too Carried Away With This Step
Mix all of the ingredients together, just until combined, don't over mix.
Step 6: Prep Work All Done!
Spray the baking pan with non-stick cooking spray before adding your mix.
Bake in an oven that's been preheated to 375° for 25-30 minutes, or until it's golden brown.
