Sweet Sushi

Introduction: Sweet Sushi

About: I am a conceptual artist, and my DIY projects are mostly inspired by pop culture (movies, music, sports, TV). I mostly specialize in painting, graphic design, drawing, digital photography, performance art, and…

Asian restaurants have gotten nothing on these sweet and colorful sushi pieces that masquerade as the real thing (discarding the rice and seafood)!

Step 1: Ingredients

Here's what you will need to make your own sweet sushi

  • banana

  • fruit leather (I'm using Fruit Roll-Ups)

  • candies (i.e. M&M's, Twizzlers) (I'm using M&M Eggs)

Step 2: Prep Banana

Cut a banana into thick slices. Slicing the banana to 1 inch thick slices is ideal.

Step 3: Add Fruit Leather

Wrap a few pieces of fruit leather around each thick banana slice. I used Fruit Roll-Ups. Since I've made 6 slices, I only needed 6 slices of fruit leather. To cut the fruit roll-ups, if you're using them, run the tip of the knife, carefully through the leather, making sure that it is cut thoroughly, so you can pull it off.

Step 4: Finish With Candy

Finish off with a few candy pieces (I used M&M Eggs, but you can use any kind of candy you want, and as little or much as you like) on top of each banana for the center of the sushi and they're done!

Step 5: Ready to Serve

Arrange the sweet sushi on a plate and serve! Now, see if you can try to use your chopsticks to eat them! They make the perfect party food and snack for you next mid-day craving!
