Introduction: TETRIS Clock

WHAT IS IT?
This is a TETRIS clock I had made to enter the "Game Of Life" contest but I got too busy at work and never had time to make an instructable for it.  So...

I am submitting it in the "I made it" photo contest and maybe someday I'll get around to making it a full blown Instrucable.

HOW WAS IT MADE?
The stand is a piece of glossy black acylic.  The TETRIS shapes are made from a 1/4" thick arylic sheet.  I cut the sheet into strips and pieces then glued them together.  They have 5mm holes drilled in them that are just deep enough to fit the tip of an LED inside.  The circuit board is a multi purpose PC Board from Radio Shack.  The clock kit is mounted to the stand and I used stand-off's to give enough distance to place the circuit board behind the clock kit.
The actual clock is just a kit that can be purchased from any crafts store like Jo-Ann Fabrics, Michaels, or just about anywhere on the web. The clock is wired separate from the rest of the circuit so the lights don't have to be on all the time. Get it... "all the time"... ahh, never-mind!

HOW DOES IT WORK?
It has a microcontroller on the back that I programmed to play three TETRIS songs.  When a song is playing the lights flash in sequence with the music.  There is a switch on the side (not shown in the photos) that will turn the circuit on.

The microcontroller is programmed so all the lights come on when the circuit is turned on.  When the big green button on the back is pressed it plays the first song and the lights flash in sequence.  When the song ends the lights will go to full on again and it will wait for the next button press.  When the button is pressed again, it will increment the song play list and play the next song.  If  the button is pressed while a song is already playing it will jump straight into the next song.  If the last song is playing when the button is pressed it will end the song and the lights will go full on.  It will wait for the next button press which will start the sequence over at song one.

I will upload a video showing the the lights flashing and songs playing when I get a chance (just so busy these days).

I also thought about making this a digital alarm clock... what a nice way to wake up!
