Intro: Taping a Hockey Stick

This instructable is about how to correctly tape an ice hockey stick. You may think that it is very simple and you can already do it but you're wrong. There is a specific way hockey players like their sticks taped, i have been playing my whole life and i will show you how i do it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_kNs9V9-iY

STEP 1: Step 1

The first step is to make sure there is no tape or anything else on the blade of the stick, this can really screw things up.

STEP 2: Step 2

Get a piece of tape about as long as the blade, put it on the very bottom of the blade starting at about the heel and go all the way to the toe.

STEP 3: Step 3

After you put on the bottom piece begin wrapping the blade, you want to overlap the tape in a way that about a quarter inch overlaps a little bit is touching the actual blade and the rest will get overlapped by the next wrap.

STEP 4: Step 4

When you get to the end instead of taping around the curve which will mess it up keep taping up and down like the stick was straight, once you do that you need to cut off the end with scissors around the curve.

STEP 5: Step 5

Step 5 is optional and is up to each player but most players like to use wax, you can buy it in any hockey store, when waxing start at the toe of the blade and go towards the heel, this way it wont mess up the tape, yes it is really called sex wax
