Introduction: Teaching Traffic Lamps Working Principle

Open up Tinkercad- Classroom and click new activities button. After select new circuit from dropdown menu. Select from right drop down menu Arduino Starters and click Arduino with breadboard. Now add 6 LED and 6 resistor with 110 Ohm. Select leds' colors red, yellow and green. Make two row with red, yellow and green leds and connect first row red led to second row green led, connect first row yellow led to second row yellow led and connect first row green led to second row red led. Connect Arduino 13 pin to second row red, 12 pin to second row yellow and 11 pin to second row green.

Supplies

The materials you need are just a computer with internet connection.

Step 1: Block Coding

After making connections we need to code our project. For this at the project page click Code. New coding menu will appear at the right menu. Under the forever block add three pin block and select them 13, 12 and 11. Set 13 pin high and set 12 and 11 to low. After that add a wait block about 5-10 seconds. After this block right click on the 13 pin block and duplicate. Draw this blocks under the wait block. Set 13, 11 pin low and 12 high. Make an other like this step. This time Set 13, 12 pin low and 11 high. Make an other one and set 13, 11 pin low and 12 high. After that add an other 5 or 10 second wait block

Step 2: Simulating

After coding step our project has done. Now we can simulate project. For that click Start Simulation. And that is. You can see your traffic lamps working. With this project your students can understand how traffic lamps work. Tinkercad is a wonderful platform that can teach children about 3d design and circuits. You can use Tinkercad free in your classroom. Join teachers like us today and start teaching with fun.
