Intro: Tetrapod Candle Holder

I'm showing you how I made the Tetrapod Candle Holder using cement. You can make it by making a mold using OHP film and Foamex, and pouring cement dough into the mold. You can see a brief description of how to make the Tetrapod Candle Holder here, or you can watch a video that shows how to make it in more detail.

STEP 1:

01. Place the OHP film on the paper, make a pattern, and cut it with scissors.

02. Prepare a total of 4 ‘Part B’.

03. Attach tape to the end

04. Roll up the OHP film and fix it on the opposite side.

05. Cut the Foamex according to the drawing with a circular cutter.

06. Then push it into the OHP film

07. Fix it with instant adhesive.

08. Make 1 set of ‘Part A’ and 3 sets of ‘Part C’.

09. Assemble using tape.

STEP 2:

10. First, connect 3 sets of ‘Part C’, then

11. Attach 1 set of ‘Part A’ at the end. That way, you can put your finger inside and secure it.

12. Make a picture together and complete it.

13. After pouring water into the mortar cement,

14. Mix well.

15. After filling the mold with all the cement dough,

16. Before the cement hardens, quickly insert the candle into the hole (about 20mm).

17. Store it in this state for about a day.

18. Once the cement has hardened, carefully peel off the mold with a knife.

Comments

This is really cool. The work making the plastic mould is so neatly done.

Huge concrete versions of this shape get used to make breakwaters around harbours, so you could also do a load of these and install them in an aquarium :-)

Well done, and thank you for sharing your work!
