Introduction: The Easiest and Funkiest Neck Tie Belt EVER

I had so many ties left from my Neck Tie Halter Dress project that I started experimenting and came up with an awesome neck tie belt to wear with that little black dress that hangs in my closet.

The thing is I can totally change the look of that dress by changing the belt!

Step 1: Pick Your Ties

Find 2 ties for your belt.  They should look great together and show up well on whatever dress, or shirt, or pants you want to wear.

Make sure they are the same size.

Step 2: Pin the Ties Together

Pin the ends of the ties together overlapping the ends.

Step 3: Sew the Ties

First, sew the ties together by stitching along the edge of the top tie.  Then flip the belt over and stitch along the edge of the underneath tie.

Make sure your bobbin thread matches the belt, because it will be visible.

Step 4: Wear It!

You're done!

To wear, center the sewn end of the ties to the front and wrap the ends around your back.  You can finish the look with a square knot in the front.

Thank you so much! This is exactly the type of belt I was looking for, and I have a bag of ties at home. Silk OBI style belts go for upwards of $60.

Hooray! And it takes only about 10 minutes to make one. Post a picture of your masterpiece.
