The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch

In this tutorial I will show you how to make the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It was also featured in video games such as Fallout 2 and Fallout: New Vegas, Duke Nukem: Time to Kill, and Mafia Wars. The hand grenade is composed of two main parts: the Cross and ball. This can be built for relatively cheap, should be under $20. This tutorial will help you to vanquish killer bunnies and create the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch! Step 1: Gathering Thine Holy Supplies

Required for the Holy Hand Grenade: a yellow plastic ball about the size of a normal wiffle ball, your favorite brand of gold spray paint, some hot glue, silver single face satin (use Offray, it's at Joann) at 3/8" and 5/8",  Darice Plastic Canvas Crosses 7 Count 3"-10/Pk Clear (also Joann), and rhinestones for the jewels (different sizes are suggested).

Step 2: Beginneth Construction

Spray paint the ball gold, as you can see in the first picture. If you are using a wiffle ball make sure to cover the gaps with tape before you begin. At this point you also want to wrap about 5-7 plastic crosses, depending on the desired thickness with the 5/8" silver satin, while making sure you secure the cross with hot glue. Be sure to wrap them as one cross rather than 5-7 individual crosses.

Step 3: Final Prepping of Ye Holy Hand Grenade

As you can see in the first picture, you also need the 3/8" satin for a diameter of your orb, and two halves of a diameter like the image on this website. At this point you also want to put your gems on it, if you want gems on your Hand Grenade that is. Use hot glue for all your adhesive purposes, it works quite nicely. Please leave room for your cross to go, if you do indeed put gems on your Grenade.

Step 4: "Thou Mayst Blow Thine Enemies to Tiny Bits"

Connect the Holy Hand Grenade Pin (The Cross) to the orb, with hot glue, and admire your finished work. If you need help with any further usage instructions be sure to consult the Book of Armaments, Chapter 2, verses 9-21.

This is great! I love Monty Python, as a matter of fact the stapler on my desk at work is the killer rabbit, I always joke and say if people want to use it they better bring the Holy Hand Grenade!
