Introduction: The Puzzle Cube

A quick and simple beginner project designed with Autodesk Inventor Professional 2017.

Step 1: Basic Cube Piece

Begin with creating a 1" x1" basic cube piece in order to construct the other pieces.

Step 2: Create Blue Piece

Open a new assembly file and place in your 1"x1" cube piece 6 times. Utilizing the "Joint" tool under "Relationships", put together each piece, following the orthographic, to form your blue piece.

Step 3: Create Green Piece

Open a new assembly file and place in your 1"x1" cube piece 6 times. Utilizing the "Joint" tool under "Relationships", put together each piece, following the orthographic, to form your green piece.

Step 4: Create Orange Piece

Open a new assembly file and place in your 1"x1" cube piece 6 times. Utilizing the "Joint" tool under "Relationships", put together each piece, following the orthographic, to form your orange piece.

Step 5: Create Red Piece

Open a new assembly file and place in your 1"x1" cube piece 5 times. Utilizing the "Joint" tool under "Relationships", put together each piece, following the orthographic, to form your red piece.

Step 6: Create Yellow Piece

Open a new assembly file and place in your 1"x1" cube piece 4 times. Utilizing the "Joint" tool under "Relationships", put together each piece, following the orthographic, to form your yellow piece.

Step 7: Assemble All Pieces

Open an assembly file and place in each of your pieces one time. Utilizing the "Constrain" tool under "Relationships", mate each piece by selecting the "mate" option and following the orthographic. The cube will not be perfect, yet. Next, utilize the "Constrain" tool under "Relationships" to flush each piece by choosing the "flush" option. Rotate the view to ensure all sides are flushed. At this point the cube should be perfectly square.
