Intro: Touch Switch With Lm555

The Touch Switch circuit will detect stray voltages produced by mains voltages and electrostatic build-up in a room. Two touch plates are provided and the resistance of your finger changes the voltage on pin 2 or 6 to toggle the 555.

STEP 1: Schematic Diagram and Needed Items

Needed items

  • 2x Resistors = 3.3 MOhm
  • 1x Resistors = 330-470 Ohm
  • 1x Capacitor = 10 nF
  • 4x Cooper Coins for touch plate
  • 1x Led
  • LM555
  • 1x BreadBoard
  • 1x Some wires
  • Power Supply +12Volt

STEP 2: Needed Tools

Needed tools

  • Iron Soldering
  • Third Hand Soldering Solder Iron Stand
  • Wire Stripper

STEP 3: Solder the Copper Coins and Create the Circuit

Solder the four copper coins for using touch plate and create the circuit as you see in schematic diagram.

STEP 4: Last Steps

We place the copper coins in the circuit. Feed the circuit with 12 volts and finaly Touch the coins for on-off the LED.
